Student Transportation in Fremont: A Parent’s Guide

Getting your child to class on time, every school day, is a big part of any family’s routine. However, for many Tri-City parents, work hours and school bells simply don’t line up. That is why we offer door-to-door student transportation in Fremont, Union City and Newark. In this guide, we explain how our school rides work, which schools we currently serve, what our terms cover and how to enroll your child.

Why we started student transportation in Fremont

Our student service began with a simple gap. Ten years ago, there were no private transportation options available for local students in the Tri-City area. So, in 2015, Tri-City Rideshare LLC started with only two students.

Today, we proudly provide safe and dependable transportation for families throughout Fremont, Union City and Newark. It is a community-based service, dedicated to supporting families in our local neighborhoods.

What our school rides include

Each route we run for student transportation in Fremont is built on the same basics:

  • Safe and insured: rideshare-endorsed, fully insured vehicles.
  • Professional drivers: punctual, experienced and background-checked.
  • Door to door: convenient pickup and drop-off service.
  • Family updates: transparent communication with parents.
  • Dedicated student routes with affordable community pricing.

In addition, our drivers are professionally trained. Each driver goes through rigorous training, drug testing and security screening. As a result, parents get peace of mind every school day, and peace of mind doesn’t cost extra.

Schools we currently serve

Our student transportation in Fremont currently serves these schools:

  • American High School (Fremont)
  • Thornton Elementary School (Fremont)
  • BASIS Independent Fremont (Fremont)
  • Quarry Lane School (Dublin, CA)

We also provide transportation to other schools and colleges, based on location and availability. So, if your child’s school is not on this list, just ask us.

How trips and fees work

One-way and two-way trips

There are two trip types. A one-way trip covers travel either from home to school or from school to home. A two-way trip covers both morning and afternoon transportation.

Two-way trips are billed at double the one-way rate, minus a 10% discount. On the enrollment form, you can choose a Morning, Afternoon or Two Way Trip.

Pricing

Fees for student transportation in Fremont may vary depending on each school’s schedule. For that reason, we share pricing directly with each family. Call, text or email us for pricing, availability and terms and conditions.

Keep in mind that any additional or special pickups or drop-offs beyond the regular service will incur extra charges. The enrollment fee is $50, and a new enrollment form must be submitted each academic year.

Annual contract, holidays and summer break

Our student transportation in Fremont runs on an annual contract between Tri-City Rideshare LLC and the parent or guardian. If you only need temporary service, please talk with us before signing.

Here is how school closures and breaks affect billing:

  • If a school closes on or after the 10th of a month, the full month’s fee still applies.
  • If a school is closed or opens any day within a month due to vacation, the full monthly fee still applies.
  • No charges are applied during the summer break.

Also, if a parent discontinues the service mid-year, re-enrollment during the same school year requires a $200 re-enrollment fee.

A typical school day with us

With student transportation in Fremont, timing matters for every family on the route. Students are picked up and dropped off at designated locations, either home or school. To keep everyone on schedule, a few simple rules apply:

  • Mornings: students must be ready at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, because drivers cannot wait.
  • Afternoons: pickups include a 10-minute grace period. However, at Thornton Elementary the wait time is limited to 6 minutes due to high congestion.
  • Absences: please let us know at least one day in advance if your child will not attend school, or if you plan to drop off or pick up your child yourself.
  • No food or drinks: this keeps our vehicles hygienic and allergy-safe. A $150 cleaning fee is charged if a child causes a mess that requires professional cleaning.

In rare circumstances, our drivers may take up to 3 personal days off per year. No alternate transportation is provided on those days. Still, we inform parents in advance whenever possible.

How to enroll your child

Enrolling in our student transportation in Fremont takes a few steps:

  1. Fill out the enrollment form on our Student Service page. It asks for the student’s name, grade, school, timing, parent contacts, address, emergency contact, service start date and trip type.
  2. Read our terms and conditions. Then print, sign, scan and email them with the enrollment form to tricititours@gmail.com.
  3. Wait for confirmation. Seats are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so submission does not guarantee enrollment.
  4. If your child is accepted, we will contact you by email or text with deposit instructions.
  5. Finally, submit the $50 enrollment fee and the first month’s payment at least 15 days before the first day of school.

Because seats depend on availability, it helps to reach out well before the school year starts.
